Critical Game 5 Goes to Host Heathens, 1-0
The Halifax Heathens faced a challenging opponent in Boston Whistlers left-hander Joe Schroeder, but did just enough to squeak out a 1-0 win in Game 5 of the Divisional Series. Halifax now leads 3-2 in the best-of-7 series. The Heathens won despite the Whistlers getting an excellent start from starter Schroeder, who allowed 1 run and scattered 5 hits over 8 innings.

Halifax left fielder Chris Epstein helped the Heathens go up, 1-0, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Epstein hit a run-scoring double off Boston pitcher Joe Schroeder.

Epstein attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."

The next game is set to be played for Monday, October 6th , 2025 at Whislters Park in Boston.
