Aztecs Win Wildcard Game
|
The Mexico City Aztecs and Oakland Invaders hooked up in a classic Wildcard Game that went right down to the wire.
In the end, it's Mexico City heading off to the Divisional Series, after a 3-2 win at Gran Estadio Azteca tonight earned the 2-1 series win.
Outside Gran Estadio Azteca, whether they were supporters of Mexico City or Oakland, many fans talked about how it was a series they would never forget.
Mike Sligar played the hero for the Aztecs in the series, as his MVP performance included a .400 batting average, with a .400 on-base percentage. He also had 1 home runs, 2 RBI and scored 2 runs.
The Mexico City Aztecs will play against the San Diego Fleet in the next round. San Diego had a bye in the Wildcard Game. The Divisional Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Game finishes.
