Raucous Mountaineers Park Crowd Propels Mountaineers to 4-0 Victory; Series Tied at 1
The Winchester Mountaineers knotted up the League Championship Series at Mountaineers Park, thanks in large part to starter Marty Capone. Capone quieted the Corpus Christi Mermen, enabling Winchester to grab the 4-0 win and move into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.

In his 90-pitch effort, Capone allowed no runs on 3 hits over 6.2 innings. He walked 0 and struck out 10.

"Marty did a good job of managing their lineup," said Winchester manager Mitchell Young.

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 27th , 2025 at Mermen Field in Corpus Christi.
