Road Win Lifts Augusta to 3-2 Lead in DS
Despite a great performance by Stockton designated hitter Ernesto Laos, the Augusta Capitols defeated the Ragin Cajuns by the score of 5-3 at Ballpark of Stockton. Laos went 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times, but he could not prevent the Capitols from moving one game closer to the League Championship Series. Augusta now leads the Division Series 3-2.

Tied up with the Ragin Cajuns in the top of the fourth inning, the Capitols got a boost from catcher Nate Yuck. With the bases loaded, Yuck saw a 1-2 slider from Chris Marquis and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Augusta on top, 2-0.

Yuck attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."

The next game is set to be played for Sunday, September 20th , 2026 at The Capitol Dome in Augusta.
