David Blasts Eskimo Brothers, Rotters Take Game 4, 4-3
|
On the verge of being swept and facing a red-hot Encinitas Eskimo Brothers team, the Riverside Rotters had a tough assignment. Mark David delivered.
The Rotters first baseman was unstoppable for the visitors, as he was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once in guiding his club to its first victory of the series, 4-3. David, 20, earned accolades for his efforts. The win means Riverside now trails 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.
Had David not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, David hit a 2-run home run. The Rotters took the lead, 4-3, and never looked back.
"By the skin of our teeth, man," David told the Riverside Citizen. "But hey, it still counts. A few more by the skin of our teeth is fine with me."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Rotters Ballpark in Riverside.
