Riding the 3-hit performance of the 25-year old left fielder Eric Hayes, the Cincinnati Royals stopped the Oakland Invaders, 5-1. Early on, the Royals, at 9-3, have played an impressive brand of baseball.

The game turned with two out in the top of the fourth when Hayes hit a 2-run home run. It thrust the Royals into the lead, 2-0.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Hayes said after the game.
