Nightmare Sunk by Scorpions
|
The Syracuse Scorpions topped the New York Nightmare, 4-3, in American Conference action at Nightmare Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Syracuse pitcher and Bensalem Township, Pennsylvania, native John Froerer. Froerer picked up the win for Syracuse, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. Ken Allbaugh collected save number 3.
Chris Guardiola, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2021 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Guardiola contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Syracuse up, 4-1.
"Feels good to get the job done," Guardiola said after the game.
The loss drops the Nightmare to 4-8.
