Reapers Pull Out Late-Game Win, 5-4
Carolina Reapers starter Steve Cates found his groove in his team's 5-4 win over the Toronto Trash Pandas. The win went to Jeff Horn in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Chris Booth took the loss. The defeat makes Toronto 4-7.

Carolina got a knockout punch from Jose Lazaro. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Lazaro said.
