|
The Austin Desperados beat the Dallas Dragons, 7-5, at Dell Diamond. Austin catcher Dave Jimenez had the hot bat. He went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Byron Stanton, the winner, is now 1-0. He struck out 2 and walked 6 over 7 innings, while allowing 5 runs on 6 hits. Earning his 32nd save of the year was Roberto Salazar.
In the bottom of the third inning, the Desperados grabbed the lead when Ruben Alamo rapped a two-out single. Austin was trailing 1-0, when Alamo hit a 2-run single off Kyle Connell to put his team in front, 2-1.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Jimenez.
Austin now owns a record of 57-51.
