Cross Lifts Wild Things to 7-3 Win
|
The Cleveland Wild Things topped the Indianapolis Eagles by the score of 7-3, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Justin Cross. Cross was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Wild Things. Efrain Gutierrez, the winner, goes to 4-2. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts over 6.2 innings. The last-place Wild Things are 47-61.
Cross had a timely hit for Cleveland in the bottom of the sixth. With Indianapolis trailing 3-2, he turned a full count fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 18th home run of the season, making it 5-3, Cleveland.
"Feels good to get the job done," Cross said after the game.
