Detroit and Fountain Hills duked it out and the Giants came out victorious.

The Detroit Giants weathered an outstanding game by Fountain Hills center fielder Isaiah Mill to topple the 23ers, 10-7. Mill went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Julian Bryant got credit for the win, improving to 7-9. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 7.2 innings.

Steve McLaughlin, who finished 5th in the AC in triples with 7 last year, aided the Detroit cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles.

In postgame comments to the Detroit Gazette, McLaughlin said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

The last-place Giants are now 52-56, the 23ers 55-53.
