Invaders Deal Sea Turtles 8-2 Defeat
|
A 3-RBI performance from Steve McKinstry, who finished 3rd in the AC in RBI with 98 in 2020, helped the Oakland Invaders beat the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles, 8-2. The first-place Invaders have won 4 in a row.
Ernesto Ramirez had a big 3-run home run for the Invaders in the bottom of the first inning. With Oakland leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Antonio Sanchez, who is tied for 2nd in the NC in complete games with 2, and punished it. The result was his 23rd home run of the season, which put the Invaders on top, 5-0.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Oakland manager Tyrone Hairston.
