The Dallas Dragons had to overcome a fine effort from Austin pitcher Joe Townsend to win, 6-5, at Dell Diamond. Townsend went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Mike Braasch earned the save for Dallas, his 19th of the year. The triumph puts Dallas at 59-48 for the season.

In the top of the ninth, Chris Beasley, who finished 5th in the AC in OPS with .888 in 2016, delivered for Dallas. That's when he belted a 3-run home run, putting the Dragons up, 6-5. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a climactic one.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Beasley told the Dallas Times.
