The Vancouver Mounties overcame a good performance by San Francisco first baseman Dennis Quesada to knock off San Francisco, 10-9, at San Francisco Grounds. Quesada belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The save was credited to Chris Brown, his 20th. At 53-54, Vancouver is in third place in the National Conference West Division.

Vancouver used the stroke of Sean Williamson to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Mounties ahead, 6-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"It was one of those games where both teams were swinging the bat well," Williamson said.
