Fire Come Up Short at San Diego, 2-1

Peter Seidler Memorial Stadium was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
The San Diego Fleet used a great performance from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Scott Staffieri to beat the San Francisco Fire, 2-1, at Peter Seidler Memorial Stadium. Brad Antol finished the game for San Diego and earned his 5th save.
Matt Rock was 1 for 3 with a double for San Diego. The 28-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Miguel Berrios. It was his 5th RBI of the season.
"Tough loss," said San Francisco manager Zach Freeman. "Tough one to swallow."
Today's win puts San Diego at 64-43, while San Francisco falls to 49-58.
