The San Francisco Fire picked up a win at San Francisco Grounds, knocking off the Vancouver Mounties, 6-1. On the mound for San Francisco was right-hander Adam Ryan. He played a key role in the triumph. San Francisco is now 55-51, Vancouver 52-54.
Leo Gutierrez broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the second with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Fire in front, 2-1. For the game, Gutierrez drove in one run.
San Francisco manager Jim Clarke commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
