Gladiators Rally Late to Clip Carolina
The Phoenix Gladiators topped the Carolina Reapers, 4-3, with youngster John Platzer playing a key role. Platzer went 4 for 4 with 4 singles and was hit by a pitch for the Gladiators in the win. The win was credited to Hector Berrios in relief. His record improves to 2-4. Bobby Corbo took the loss. Phoenix is third in the American Conference South Division with a record of 53-52.

Had Platzer not come through in the top of the ninth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Platzer hit a run-scoring single. The Gladiators took the lead, 4-3, and never looked back.

"John is still learning," said Gladiators manager . "The sky's the limit for him."
