The Charleston Shiners got a stellar performance from pitcher Dennis Allen, who handcuffed the Dallas offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Ballpark of Charleston. Allen, now 6-2, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Shane Kidd closed the game out for Charleston, earning his 18th save.

Charlie Paquin, the 32nd overall pick in the 2018 draft, took Dallas hurler Steve McClung deep in the bottom of the fifth. His solo home run put the Shiners on top, 2-1. In all, Paquin had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Charleston manager Chad Hart.

The Shiners improved to 72-33.
