Eagles Edge Nightmare, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Indianapolis Eagles and the New York Nightmare, Ray Dappen, who finished 3rd in the NC in innings pitched with 210.0 in 2022, was the difference-maker. The Indianapolis right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The winner was Dappen. He threw 6.1 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Mario Ruiz. The losses continue to mount for New York, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
Indianapolis used a clutch at-bat from Tony Bradshaw to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Eagles ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We're not exactly playing great right now," said , the New York manager.
