The Tampa Bay Captains scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the San Francisco Fire at San Francisco Grounds. Tampa Bay pitcher Heath Eberly held his own in the contest. Eberly yielded 3 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-3. Jason Washington nailed down his 13th save.
Tom Gammill had a direct impact on the outcome. Gammill contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the fourth inning to put Tampa Bay up, 2-1.
