Gladiators Snag 7-3 Win
|
Led by Gabriel Crear, the Phoenix Gladiators downed the Charleston Shiners, 7-3. Crear was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Gladiators. The third-place Gladiators now have a record of 51-52.
Jon Wagner came through with a big-time hit for Phoenix. The center fielder smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 7-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Wagner told the Phoenix Citizen. "Whatever it takes."
