The New York Nightmare beat the Halifax Heathens, 3-2, at Nightmare Stadium. Alex Martinez, in particular, was impressive. He was 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Adam Holland got the save, his 18th in 21 chances. The Nightmare saw their record improve to 49-55.

Martinez contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for New York in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Martinez took a cutter from Marty Capone and stroked the home run to left-center. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Nightmare to leap in front, 2-1.

"There's still time to turn this season around," said Martinez.
