The Vancouver Caribou topped the Syracuse Scorpions, 5-2, in National Conference action at Scorpion Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Vancouver pitcher and University Park, Texas, native Nick Douglass. The loss makes Syracuse 51-52.

Vancouver used the hitting of Mark Riley to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Caribou on top, 5-1. For the game, Riley had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We did a lot of things right," said Riley.
