Canas Squelches Tampa Bay Offense
The Philadelphia Marauders claimed a close win over the Tampa Bay Captains, due in large part to Josh Canas. The Philadelphia right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 1-0 win. Vince Mellon earned the save, his 3rd, for the Marauders. Tampa Bay drops to 6-5.

Canas, who dominated for Philadelphia, earned the victory to move to 1-2. He was in control the whole game, scattering 2 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 9. Tampa Bay batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.

"Josh made the big pitches when he needed to," said Philadelphia manager Danny Ordaz.
