Cowboys 1B Benitez Gets the Cycle
Alex Benitez gave all he had to help the Oklahoma State Cowboys, but it wasn't enough.

Benitez hit for a rare cycle against the Vanderbilt Commodores, who still managed to trump Oklahoma State, 4-3. He ended up going 4-for-5 with 2 RBI and 1 run scored in the contest.

"Disappointing," Benitez said later when asked to describe the experience. "I felt like we had an opportunity, but we couldn't string it all together today."

Alex Benitez grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Kory Pullar in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 6th, singled in the 8th and doubled in the 10th.

In 40 games this year, Benitez has posted a .342 average and put up these numbers: 13 home runs, 36 RBIs and 29 runs scored.
