Sea Turtles Beaten By Invaders, 5-2
|
The Oakland Invaders topped the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles, 5-2, in National Conference action at Leatherback Park. The standout performance belonged to Oakland pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Miguel Leon. The winning pitcher was Leon, now 11-4. He tossed 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 2. Oakland now sits at 48-54, while Daytona Beach falls to 49-53.
Ernesto Ramirez, who finished 2nd in the NC in OPS with 1.069 in 2018, contributed to the Oakland win with a solo home run in the top of the first. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Oakland manager Bobby Campbell.
