The Boston Whistlers converted a terrific effort from starter Jay Helm into a win over the Syracuse Scorpions at Whislters Park. The Whistlers won the game by a final score of 2-0. The American Conference Central Division-leading Whistlers are 50-51.

Helm was in the zone all game. He frustrated Syracuse hitters while giving the Whistlers 8 innings of quality work. Helm threw 119 pitches, allowing 4 hits and getting 10 punchouts.

Helm attributed the win to "making big pitches in big moments."
