The Charleston Shiners rode a solid performance from 21-year-old starting pitcher Andy Weatherholt to a win, beating the Sandusky Seagulls, 6-2, at Seagull Park. Weatherholt, the winner, moves to 6-4. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. Charleston is now 54-47, 5 games up in the National Conference South Division.

Danny Lebron, the Charleston second baseman, contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to make the score 5-0, Shiners. For the game, Lebron went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Lebron told the Charleston Observer.
