San Francisco Defeated By Shiners, 6-4
|
The Charleston Shiners satisfied the home crowd at Ballpark of Charleston, treating them to a season-opening win, 6-4, over the San Francisco Fire. Center Fielder Nick Wisniewski was the standout performer for Charleston. Todd Thompson sewed up the save, his 1st.
Charleston grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Wisniewski hit a 2-run home run off Tom Tchida. His 1st home run of the season put the Shiners out in front, 6-4.
Charleston manager Chad Hart called it "a good, solid win."
