Conditions were not ideal but Cincinnati and Maine were able to put their game in the books.

Juan Fernandez, who finished 4th in the AC in strikeouts with 229 in 2022, was locked in. The right-hander led the Cincinnati Royals to a 5-2 win against the Maine Pines at The Castle. The loss makes Maine 61-39.

Rick Brown helped out the Cincinnati cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the left fielder drove in one run.

Fernandez told a Cincinnati Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
