Oregon Takes Elite 8 in Deciding Game
The fans in Oregon are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Northwestern.

The Oregon Ducks finished off the Northwestern Wildcats 9-8 in the deciding game of the Elite 8 played at PK Park.

They took the series 2-1 and will now head to the Final 4.

For his standout play, Oregon left fielder Hunter Schalow was voted the series' Most Valuable Player.

He batted .385, drove in 6 runs and scored 4 to lead his club to victory.

"We could never really figure out how to pitch to Schalow and that doomed us," said Wildcats manager Tommy Nevins. "Hats off to Oregon, though. That was a great series."

The Oregon Ducks will play against the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the next round. Nebraska won their series against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons 2 games to 0. The Final 4 schedule will be announced after the Elite 8 finishes.
