Wild Things Come Up Short at Detroit, 3-2
|
The Detroit Giants picked up a win at Ballpark of Detroit, knocking off the Cleveland Wild Things, 3-2. Starting pitcher Jon Haynes played a key role in the triumph. Haynes picked up the win for Detroit, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 10-6. Chris Fitzsimmons got the save, his 23rd in 27 chances.
Ryan Forsythe did his part for the Giants, producing a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning. For the game, the third baseman was 2-5 with 2 singles.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Detroit manager Sean O'Leary said.
