Demon Deacons Dominate, Sweep Sweet 16
The Virginia Cavaliers were simply overmatched by the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the Sweet 16.

The end result was a sweep, as Wake Forest has cruised to the Elite 8, with the final win coming at David F. Couch Ballpark by a score of 4-1.

"We're clicking and running on all cylinders at the moment," said Danny Thompson, who was named MVP of the Sweet 16. "We're a dangerous team when we play like this."

For the series, Thompson hit .300 with a .300 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 0 RBI and scored 2 runs.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the USC Trojans - Nebraska Cornhuskers series. Nebraska leads the series 1 game to 0. The Elite 8 schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes.
