Eagles Drop Another One, 9-1
|
The Charleston Shiners pinned a convincing loss on the Indianapolis Eagles, 9-1, at Ballpark of Charleston. Danny Lebron was a main factor in the win. He was 4-4 with a home run and 3 doubles. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for Charleston. The triumph makes Charleston 7-3, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2022.
Nick Wisniewski had a big 3-run home run for the Shiners in the bottom of the third inning. With Charleston leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a curveball from Rodney Caporn, who finished 4th in the AC in strikeouts with 294 in 2020, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Shiners on top, 5-0.
"All good teams, all good offenses go through challenging times," said Indianapolis manager Pete DuBay. "This is another one."
