Cincinnati pitcher Andy Dooley did his part in helping his team defeat the Oakland Invaders, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Wayne Harless picked up the save for Cincinnati, his 4th of the year. The win has Cincinnati at 8-2.

Cincinnati used a well-timed hit by Rick Brown to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Royals ahead, 5-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I like our moxie," said Royals manager Justin Aaron.
