At Ballpark of Detroit, the Fountain Hills 23ers and Detroit Giants were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Detroit Giants starter Ryan Heyer kept the Fountain Hills 23ers hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 8-1 win. Heyer, who is tied for 2nd in the AC in complete games with 2, went the distance for Detroit. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits.

Brandon Fry was vital to the Detroit win. He was 1-4. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth with one out, Fry hit a 2-run single. It made the score 4-1, in favor of the Giants.

"They just got us," said Fountain Hills manager Efren Nieman, "and that's all I can say."

The last-place Giants now sit at 48-51.
