Hollywood got a decent performance from pitcher Fred Taylor, but it wasn't enough to beat the San Francisco Fire. San Francisco won the Hollywood Grounds contest, 6-4. Taylor threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The win went to Jesus Henriguez in relief, making him now 2-4. Pat Eisen took the loss for Hollywood. San Francisco now owns a record of 44-55.

San Francisco went in front, 6-4, on Dusty Ward's 14th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Ward hit in the top of the tenth, left Hollywood pitcher Pat Eisen visibly perturbed.

San Francisco manager Chris Ware commended his team for "bagging a nice win."
