Trash Pandas Squeeze Out Win in Pitching Duel
The Toronto Trash Pandas claimed a close win over the Indianapolis Eagles, due in large part to Yosaburo Kanda. The Toronto right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 1-0 win. In 7.1 innings, Kanda surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed no runs. The Toronto win streak is now 3 games.

The Eagles had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Trash Pandas going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old second baseman Brian Marquez came to the plate. Marquez hit a solo home run on a first pitch cutter from Indianapolis hurler Jerry Bowman. It was Marquez's 2nd home run of the year.

"Yosaburo pitched like a son-of-a-gun," said Toronto manager Matt Armijo.
