Fighting Irish Pitching Ravaged by Rodriguez
No matter what the Notre Dame Fighting Irish threw at him today, Willie Rodriguez hit it. He easily handled Fighting Irish pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Panthers to a 9-8 triumph at Frank Eck Stadium.

"The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.

Told of Rodriguez's quip, Fighting Irish skipper David Rouse said he "would take him up on that next time."

Willie Rodriguez singled in the 1st, hit a two-run triple in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.

This year Rodriguez is hitting at a .325 pace with 1 home run and 8 RBIs. He has played in 28 games and scored 11 times.
