Tampa Bay Wins, 7-6, Over Nightmare
|
The Tampa Bay Captains turned back the New York Nightmare, 7-6, at Ahoy Park. Steve Post, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Reliever Jesse Vecchio picked up the win. His record improves to 5-4. Dana Walker took the loss. The Captains raised their record to 45-53.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Tampa Bay trailing 6-3, Post hit a fastball from Dana Walker for a grand slam home run, giving the Captains the walk-off win.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Post.
