Indianapolis Crafts 3-2 Win
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Indianapolis Eagles and the Charleston Sea Dogs, John Hennig, who leads the NC in complete games with 1, was the difference-maker. The Indianapolis right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. James Gibson came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 7-1. The National Conference North East Division-leading Eagles are 59-39.
Indianapolis used a clutch hit from Justin Shaffer to get the win. The shortstop drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Eagles ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"To become 'battle-tested,'" said Hennig, "you need to compete in this kind of contest."
