Mounties Rally to Nose Past Long Island
The Moncton Mounties weathered a fine game by Long Island shortstop Yeong-ha Lee to upend the Torpedoes, 7-6, at Mapleton Yards. Lee went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Moncton pitcher Diego Garcia earned the win, hiking his record to 7-0. Katsutoshi Watanabe suffered the loss. Moncton, having won 19 in a row, is now 112-25.

Edwin Barrera was the walk-off hero for Moncton. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mounties third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Moncton manager Johnny Hoffman.
