In a seemingly effortless performance, Joe Schroeder of the Boston Whistlers shot down the Detroit Giants, 6-0, on 4 hits.

"Joe was just locating so well and using his pitches," Boston manager Mike Plocher said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."

Schroeder recorded 8 strikeouts and 2 walks in a strong outing.

"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Detroit manager Larry Voltaire said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."

On the season, Schroeder has 9 wins and 6 losses and a 5.46 ERA.
