The Philadelphia Marauders racked up a win at The Hideout, bumping off the Chicago Gangsters, 5-2. Josh Canas, who started for Philadelphia, pitched effectively for his team. Canas got the win, improving to 8-6. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Picking up his 24th save was 23-year old left-handed pitcher Vince Mellon.
Manuel Rosas, who finished 3rd in the AC in RBI with 116 last year, chipped in a 2-run home run for Philadelphia in the top of the third. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Philadelphia manager Danny Ordaz. "It's usually not just one thing."
