Colonels Walk It Off for 74th Win of Season
Tiverton turned a good performance from starting pitcher Andy Merrick into a 4-2 triumph over the Long Island Torpedoes at Field of the Colonels. Tiverton reliever Robby Rush picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Danny Guerrero was saddled with the loss. The third-place Colonels now have a win-loss record of 74-53.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Tiverton. That's when Danny Molina hit a 2-run home run off 19-year old right-handed pitcher Danny Guerrero to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Merrick told the Tiverton Daily News.
