The Moncton Mounties locked up a win at Eláguila Stadia, knocking off the Whitby Bats, 8-5. On the mound for Moncton was left-hander Manuel Cristerna. He played a major role in the triumph. Cory Crabtree collected save number 5. The Mounties raised their record to 62-58.

Moncton used a clutch at-bat from Jessie Cable to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mounties ahead, 8-2. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Cristerna. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
