The Indianapolis Eagles beat the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles, 5-2. Indianapolis pitcher and Independence, Iowa, native Jonathan Higginbotham led the way. With the win, Indianapolis upped its record to 51-45.

John Thaxton had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the second for Indianapolis. With the bases loaded and the Eagles leading 1-0, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.

Thaxton told a Indianapolis News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
