The Austin Desperados and Hollywood Stars played an exciting game.
The Austin Desperados cut down the Hollywood Stars by the score of 4-2, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Brent Hansen. Hansen threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the Desperados. Bob Baucke sewed up the save, his 2nd.
Leo Serna, who finished 5th in the AC in on-base percentage with .357 in 2020, chipped in a 2-run home run for Austin in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Hansen said after the game.
The win brings the Desperados to 6-4, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
