Austin Nets 7-6 Win Versus Stars
|
The inspired effort of Hollywood right fielder Tom Klenke was not enough to prevent a loss, 7-6, to the Austin Desperados. Klenke was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win went to Chris Oren in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Chong-hyeon Hyong took the loss. The triumph makes Austin 6-4, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2023.
Batting in the bottom of the ninth, former first round draft pick Paul Ainsworth had a real shot to win the game. Hollywood pitcher Chong-hyeon Hyong was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Ainsworth hit a run-scoring single. The Desperados had a walk-off triumph.
"Feels good to get the job done," Ainsworth said after the game.
