Colonels Suffer 2-1 Road Loss
The Whitby Bats downed the Tiverton Colonels, 2-1, at Eláguila Stadia. Stellar pitching by Graham Renner had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Renner picked up the win for Whitby, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. The win puts Whitby at 62-53 this season.

The Bats got a big at-bat from second baseman Matt Sikes. For the game, Sikes was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Whitby a 2-1 lead.
