Brian Gay, who is tied for 7th in the NC with a 8.5 K/9 rate, had a strong outing for the Moncton Mounties against the Moriarty Suns at Super Solarplex. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 7-3 win. The third-place Mounties now sit at 57-55.

Moncton used a clutch at-bat from Dave Poth to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Mounties ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Gay.
