Syracuse center fielder Chris Guardiola was sensational. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Detroit beat the Scorpions, 7-6. The win has Detroit at 34-62.

The Giants got a clutch hit from shortstop Glenn Valentine. In the bottom of the 18th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Giants.

"We had a chance to win," said Syracuse manager Josh Gifford, "but we didn't get it done."
