Colonels Capture 5-2 Win at Mapleton Yards
|
The Tiverton Colonels beat the Moncton Mounties, 5-2, at Mapleton Yards. Doug Marrin, in particular, was impressive. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Jim Unknown nailed down his 1st save. The victory puts Tiverton at 44-64.
Marrin contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Tiverton in the top of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Marrin took a knuckleball from Brian Wilkey and stroked the home run to left-center. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Colonels to leap in front, 2-1.
"I felt good up there," said Marrin. "I saw the ball well."
