Torpedoes Sneak Past Bellflowers, 8-7
The Long Island Torpedoes topped the Buffalo Bellflowers, 8-7, in 10 innings. Long Island center fielder Matt Andrews, in particular, was impressive. He was 3-5 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win puts the Torpedoes at 45-61, while the Bellflowers drop to 32-74.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Long Island designated hitter Kevin McDowell, facing Miguel Gastelum, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Torpedoes the 8-7 win.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," McDowell said.
