Buffalo Bellflowers starter Wayne Wright found his groove in his team's 8-3 win over the Moncton Mounties. Wright, now 7-3, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. At 66-40, Buffalo is in first place in the Northern Conference East Division.

The Mounties had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Bellflowers going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old second baseman Bobby Scheffel came to the plate. Scheffel hit a run-scoring double on a 1-0 knuckle curve from Moncton hurler Tarjei Wiese. It was Scheffel's 4th double of the year.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Scheffel.
